Fruit Smoothie

Fruit Smoothie

I wasn’t sure where to put this particular item in the web page. My son takes it in the morning along with his breakfast. This delicious drink can even be used as a mixer for the formula (the taste and flavor of the formula is masked by the fruit flavors of this drink). My son prefers this method of taking his formula than any other way.

1 medium size banana ( 75 gms) frozen in the skin 1/2 cup fat free Mocha mix, Dari-free or other low protein milk substitute
2 or 3 strawberries (70 gms) fresh if available or frozen 1 cup or more water
2 or 3 cubes of frozen mango (1/4 cup) Measured amount of formula (optional)

The banana frozen in its skin stores better in the freezer and the fruit doesn’t get dark. Hold it under running water for a few minutes so the skin just peels off. Add all the ingredients in a blender along with the frozen banana. Process it until you get a thick fruit smoothie. The amount of water can be adjusted according to personal preference. This combination is great to take with the formula since it completely masks the flavor of the formula . Add the formula to one serving out of the two and blend it again until it is thoroughly mixed.

Makes 2 servings.

Since the fruits are frozen the combination makes a really thick shake.
