ROLLS

 

1 cup warm water (225ml )

1 Tbs brown sugar

1 package (7 g or 1 ½ tsp.) active dry yeast

3 1/4 cups(350 gms) TC Bread Mix

1 Tbsp. Olive Oil (optional – great for pizza dough)

Herbs of choice (optional – great for pizza dough)

½ tsp garlic powder (optional – great for pizza dough)

 

ALL METHODS:

 

  1. Combine ½ cup warm water, dry yeast and the brown sugar, and mix well.
  2. Leave it to get frothy, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the rest of the water to the frothy mixture.

 

BREAD MACHINE METHOD:  

  1. Add the dry ingredients and the wet ingredients into the bread-baking pan according to the bread machine manufacturer’s instruction.
  2. Set the machine to dough cycle and let it mix for 20 minutes. Cancel the cycle and take the dough out.
  3. Rub olive oil in your hands in order that the dough doesn’t stick to your hands.
  4. Take golf ball size of dough and roll it into a round.
  5. Place on an oiled baking tray or a wooden board.
  6. Cover loosely with a plastic wrap.
  7. Leave it to rise to double the size.
  8. Brush the rolls with melted margarine (improves the color)
  9. Bake in a preheated 375-400 deg F oven for 8 – 10 minutes.
  10. Remove and cover with cloth towel to cool.
  11. Store in zippered plastic bag. (can be frozen for longer use in the plastic bag; can be defrosted for 20-30 seconds when needed)

MANUAL METHOD:

In a large bowl, combine baking mix, oil, herbs and garlic powder (if using), and the frothy yeast mixture. Beat with a wooden spoon or dough hook until mixture forms a sticky mixture and not dry or stiff.
Transfer to a greased bowl and let the dough rise for 20 minutes.
Rub olive oil in your hands in order that the dough doesn’t stick to your hands.
Take golf ball size of dough and roll it into a round.
Place on an oiled baking tray or a wooden board.
Cover loosely with a plastic wrap.
Leave it to rise to double the size.
